The sad story is that a man like Ib Pors Nielsen have created a lot of wonderful things, but the lack of resources and willing capital, make it impossible for him to get them
mass produced. Maybe we should start a discusson of business ethics at the forum - we all have to earn some money, but there are something wrong, if his ideas dies with him!
I think that the unorthodox ideas in many of his constructions, is an expression of a man who is passionate about doing does his own thinking.
According to the story about the multihull boats, Victor Tchetchet was the man
who in the middle of the last century coined the word Trimaran. Ib Pors Nielsen
met him in America, and he was very fascinated by Victors trimaran; Commodore.
When he came home, he did build his own Trimaran; Strativarius, which was a 15 feet
long flat bottoned boat, that did plane early, and was very fast. Then he tried to
make an even bigger version of Strativarius - a 24 feet version, but this boat was
to wild beast.

Basic aerodynamics is a standard curriculum for pilots, and because Ib Pors Nielsen
was a fighter pilot he could use this knowledge in the 70'ties where he, with a friend
made a catamaran with a 30m2 wing mast without any stays. - The most genious detail
about this sail; was that it did turn on a ballbearing made of 48 small footballs -
with a smile on his head, Ib said; that this was the worlds first shock absorbing
ballbearing.
The wingmast project was an expensive project, but event thou he's resources was
limited, he continued experimenting with alternative masts and sails.
A Swedish company asked him to create a Trimaran with a cabin on it, and Ib Pors Nielsen
made Pinta which the swedes made 23 of.
Fleuret is another of Ib Pors Nielsens successfull trimarans, which have been created
in 5 different versions.
Today Ib Pors Nielsen has one exciting little katamaran on the drawingboard small enough
for the car roof. But he have also made a sporty dinghy called Superstar which he is
searching for a manufacturer for. - You can see a model of it at the top of the picture!
